I'm proud to say, GIANT is a doom metal band, hailing from North Carolina with two releases so far and another recording due out in the new future. I've seen these guys twice (so far) and each time I find myself amazed how heavy and mind-blowing a performance they can give. By listening to this record, you can definitely tell what I mean although the tempo is generally pretty slow throughout. The 5-track album is close to an hour long and contains songs that are about 7-15mins. But, there isn't a dull moment, the harsh dense chords with such heavy gaping vocals carries out to a smooth orchestrated section and then you'll get hit again with a fuckin wall of distorted chords and pounding rudiments with consistent cymbal crashes (they're using a timpani drum in the new tracks- how intense is that?). If you like what you hear, I urge you to buy the album from Southern Empire Records for only a couple bucks or their split with Tides. It is definitely worth your money.
